Kevin Boland is the Managing Partner of the New York Life Insurance Company East Bay General Office in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is responsible for overseeing over 100 agents, 4 managers and 6 staff and developing the agency through recruiting and retaining quality individuals.

Recruiting is the cornerstone of a successful sales organization and strengthens the existing Agency. New agents not only generate added production, they keep an office alive by sparking and challenging the rest of it's field force. A Manager's persistent efforts in this endeavor help to create a successful sales team.

Experienced Agents appreciate the energy and excitement new agents bring into the Agency. When this happens they refer prospective candidates. Periodically an Experienced Agent will teach a class or Mentor newer agents. This may be on a telephone technique, a closing or sales idea, or product knowledge. Their efforts are reciprocated through our advanced underwriting and technology classes as well as through the added support of our Sales Development and Administrative Staff.

Details often make the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. Great organizations are built on their attention to details. Major problems or emergencies can easily be taken care of. Nevertheless, when you consistently pay attention to the small details, day after day, year after year, your leadership becomes the key to your agency's growth.

Focus on a common goal and transmit it to the field force. In the East Bay General Office Agents and Managers are admired and respected for their positive attitude and ongoing commitment to the overall success of the team in addition to their own production goals.

My job as a Managing Partner is to help people become better people. Sometimes this is simply helping them overcome their fears. As they do this, they grow personally and professionally and become more effective in all aspects of their lives. Their sales increase and they reach higher Council Levels, and Membership in the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table*.
